Sara Rano Morris.(Local) - The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA)

NORFOLK - Sara Rano Morris, 91, died June 29, 2010 in a local hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Benito and Baltasara Rano. She was the widow of William C. Morris and was preceded in death by her three sisters, Mary Yanez, Virginia Hiser and Lucia Altimarano.

Mrs. Morris was a graduate of the Old St. Vincent's Depaul, Class of 1940. She was a registered nurse and spent many years as a public nurse with the Norfolk Health Department. She was a longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her brother, Frank Rano and his wife Bessie Dioquino Rano of Norfolk, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be held today at 7 p.m. in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
